1 firefighter, 3 others injured after fire breaks out in Queens home kitchen

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A fire that began in the kitchen of a Queens home injured one firefighter and three civilians on Saturday afternoon, the FDNY said.

Fire officials said a call came in at 12:30 p.m. reporting a fire in the kitchen at 84-38 108th Street in Richmond Hill.

The 2-alarm blaze had 106 firefighters and EMS responded to the scene, authorities said.

Firefighters got the flames under control by 1:35 p.m., the FDNY said.

One firefighter and two civilians were rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center to treat their injuries.

One other person was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi for treatment.

The nature of the victim’s injuries was not immediately clear, though fire officials did say that they were not life threatening.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
