NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for multiple suspects after an innocent bystander was shot in the leg in the Bronx Wednesday evening, according to authorities.

At about 6:30 p.m., the 64-year-old woman was standing in front of 610 Jackson Ave. in Melrose when she was shot once in the right thigh, cops said.

She was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition and is expected to survive.

Four men in dark clothes were last seen running south on Jackson Avenue after the gunfire, witnesses told 1010 WINS.

It is unclear who the intended target was, officials said.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
