77-year-old Bronx food market employee slashed during dispute

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 77-year-old food Bronx market employee was slashed in the face Friday afternoon, authorities said.

The attack happened at a meat market at 90 West 165th Street in Highbridge just before 4 p.m., police said.

A man engaged the employee in a verbal dispute before taking out a sharp object and slashing him on the right side of his face, according to officials.

Emergency responders transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition while the suspect fled the scene.
