NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Eight firefighters were injured after responding to a fire in a Queens residence on Friday, according to the FDNY.
The fire started in the attic of a two-story building at 45-32 170th St. in Flushing, according to officials.
A total of 106 EMS and fire personnel responded to the scene.
Four firefighters sustained minor injuries, while the other four were seriously injured but are expected to recover. They were transported to three different hospitals: North Shore, NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn, and NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, the FDNY said.
The fire was under control at around 1:40 p.m., officials said.
