NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- An MTA bus collided with a construction lift in Midtown Manhattan on Monday night, leaving eight people injured, police said.

The BxM6 was heading northbound on Madison Avenue at 8:30 p.m. when it made impact with the cherry picker–like bucket vehicle near East 48th Street.

The bucket hit two to three windows on the bus, sending glass flying, according to police.

Eight people, including the bus operator and passengers, were taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue with minor injuries.

Police said no criminality is suspected as the investigation into the cause continues.

1010 WINS has reached out to the MTA for comment.

Police dispelled early reports that a crane had collapsed on the bus like in last month's crane collapse in Hell's Kitchen.

There have been several bus crashes in the past month. Just last Thursday, 13 people were injured when an MTA bus collided with a truck on the Upper West Side. And on July 23, 10 people were injured when a minivan crashed into an MTA bus and burst into flames. A couple weeks before that on July 6, 27 people were hospitalized after a double-decker tour bus crashed into an MTA bus that had the right of way in Gramercy.
