
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Nine people were injured in Queens on Thursday evening when a 79-year-old woman rear-ended an MTA bus and then mounted a sidewalk and plowed into a bus stop, police said.
The woman was behind the wheel of a Ford Explorer when she slammed into the back of the Q10 bus at Liberty Avenue and Lefferts Boulevard in South Ozone Park shortly after 7 p.m.
After hitting the bus, she continued onto the sidewalk and struck people at the bus stop, police said.
The nine injuries included three women in the Ford, two men on the bus and four people at the bus stop.

The driver and two women, ages 79 and 69, were hurt in the Ford, while two men, ages 38 and 34, were hurt aboard the bus.
The injured at the bus stop included a 17-year-old girl, two 66-year-old women and an 18-year-old woman.
None of the injuries were life-threatening, according to police. All of the patients were in stable condition at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.
An investigation into the crash was ongoing Friday.
