NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- What’s next for Mayor Eric Adams as his time in office ends?
"I hope you guys didn't think I was just going to disappear,” Adams told reporters Thursday, letting them know there’s life after the mayoralty.
"I'm going to go back to school, number one. I'd like to get my doctorate,” he said.
He’s also writing a book, wants to make a documentary and would love to develop a student program for AI.
And he’s entertaining several “attractive” job offers that could even take him overseas.
Wherever life takes him, he said he wants to stay active in local NYC politics and still has a lot to contribute.
“I'm going to remain local here in local politics and local solutions. You can do a lot outside of government that you can't do in government,” he said.
With a little over two weeks to go until Election Day, he said he isn’t ready to make an endorsement for his successor.
"Everyone's asking me, ‘When are you going to endorse, when are you going to endorse, when are you going to endorse?’ When I'm ready to endorse. That's the best answer I can give,” he said.
He then left, letting reporters know, “I’ve gotta bounce.”
