NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Mayor Eric Adams has been accused of sexual assault in a lawsuit filed Wednesday night, according to reports.

The lawsuit was initiated by a woman, who accused Adams of sexually assaulting her in 1993 when both she and Adams were employees of the city, according to initial reports by The Messenger.

The lawsuit, submitted just before the deadline of the Adult Survivor's Act, also includes the NYPD's transit bureau and Guardian Association as co-defendants.

The filed document, a three-page summons, lacks detailed information regarding the nature of the alleged assault.

"The mayor does not know who this person is," a spokesperson for City Hall told 1010 WINS. "If they ever met, he doesn't recall it. But he would never do anything to physically harm another person and vigorously denies any such claim"

The plaintiff, represented by an attorney, is seeking compensation with the lawsuit demanding at least $5 million.

The summons doesn't provide any detail about the alleged assault.

This lawsuit comes during another legal challenge Adams faces as he has been under investigation related to his campaign's fundraising practices, including a recent FBI raid on the home of his campaign's chief fundraiser and the seizure of his personal electronic devices.
