NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged with fatally shooting a 16-year-old boy and injuring two other people at a house party in the Bronx on Monday, the NYPD said Friday.
Desire Louree was arrested and charged with murder in connection with 16-year-old Kahlik Grier's death, police said Friday.
Another man, 21-year-old Deshaun Grier, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the shooting, the NYPD said.
Police say Louree shot a 22-year-old man in the ankle and a 19-year-old man in the torso on the ninth floor of an apartment building on Webster Avenue — not far from East Gun Hill Road — in the Norwood section of the Bronx around 11:50 p.m. on Monday. Both men were treated for their injuries, the NYPD said.
Not long after, he made his way to the eighth floor of the building, where he shot Kahlik Grier in the neck, the department said.
Kahlik Grier was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Kahlik Grier, Deshaun Grier and Louree all lived at the building, the NYPD said. It wasn't immediately clear if Kahlik Grier and Deshaun Grier were related.
Attorney information for Deshaun Grier and Louree wasn't immediately available Friday.
