NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police released a video early Thursday of a man sought for a hate crime attack on an Asian man just outside a subway station on the Lower East Side earlier this week, as a string of assaults against Asians across New York City continues, according to police.
The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force said the 56-year-old victim was entering the F train station at East Broadway and Rutgers Street around 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday, when he was suddenly repeatedly punched in the face, by a man.
The victim fell to the ground, hitting his head, and the attacker continued beating him, authorities said.
The suspect fled, running into the train station.
The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition
The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident.
