NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An attacker punched a woman in the neck and stole her glasses and jacket after the woman refused her offer to let her into a Bronx subway station through a gate in exchange for $2, the NYPD said.
The 28-year-old woman was buying a MetroCard at the 205th Street Station in the Norwood section of the Bronx around 3:35 p.m. on Oct. 23 when another woman offered to open a subway gate and let her inside if she paid her $2, police said.
When the 28-year-old refused the offer, the woman punched her in the neck and tried to grab her purse, the NYPD said.
The woman managed to flee the scene with the 28-year-old's glasses and jacket, according to police. The 28-year-old refused medical attention at the scene.
Police are now searching for the alleged attacker, an approximately 6-foot-1 woman who was last seen wearing a black jacket, light blue jeans and a white face mask.
