
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- MTA workers conducting an inspection discovered a badly burned body in a subway tunnel in the Financial District early Monday, officials said.
The unidentified body was found at around 2 a.m. between the tracks at the Wall Street station.
According to an NYPD spokesperson, the body was badly burned, decomposed, and had likely been there "for awhile."
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death and an investigation is ongoing.
