NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Linda Torres, who appeared in the VH1 reality show "Big Ang" and occasionally on "Mob Wives," died Thursday at Staten Island University Hospital following a 9-week battle with COVID-19.

Torres, who was the late Angela "Big Ang" Raiola's friend, was 67.

Big Ang's sister, Janine Detore, said Torres had been taken off a ventilator.

"She was placed on a ventilator then they took off the ventilator," Detore said in a statement. "She really was fighting, but I guess she couldn't really battle it. It was too much."

Remembering Torres, she added, "Linda was the life of the party – like my sister. Very fun to be around, not negative, just wanted to have a fun time. I get so sad to know that she's gone now."

"Big Ang" debuted in 2012 and lasted one season. The show's star died in February 2016 at 55 from complications of lung cancer and pneumonia.
