NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – A thief on a bicycle punched a man to the ground and robbed him Thursday before fleeing on the bike, police said.
The NYPD released surveillance images of a suspect Friday, hours after the afternoon robbery in Ridgewood.
A 53-year-old man was walking near Bleecker Street and Fresh Pond Road at 4:30 p.m. when the cycling crook pedaled past and punched him the face, police said.
The victim fell to the ground, where the thief robbed him of $100 before taking off on the bike, according to police.
The suspect was last seen traveling westbound on Menahan Street, police said.
The victim suffered bruising to his face but refused medical attention.
