NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man was charged with sex trafficking and interstate prostitution for bringing young women from out of state to New York to prostitute under threat of force, fraud and coercion, prosecutors announced on Monday.
Ferron Facey, 38, from Brooklyn also known as "Azul," "Blue," "Royal" and "Royal Da P," was charged with two counts of sex trafficking and one count of interstate prostitution, Breon Peace, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York said.
"As alleged, the defendant trafficked women from out of state, including a minor, to serve as commercial sex workers for him at the notorious Penn Track in East New York, Brooklyn," Peace said.
According to court documents, Facey allegedly recruited women – including at least one 16-year-old minor – in another state and brought them to work for him in prostitution at an open-air sex market in "Penn Track" or "blade," in Brooklyn. He allegedly used violence, coercion and threats of force to exert control.
Prosecutors stated that Facey has some history of threatening violence against women on the Penn Track. For example, in a video posted on social media in July 2023, he was captured verbally assaulting a woman on the Penn Track and saying, "I got h*** out here that'll beat you up right now . . . I put hands on b*****." Shortly afterward, two unidentified individuals came out from Facey's car and physically attacked the woman.
During his arrest, a search warrant revealed an unloaded handgun, an unloaded magazine, multiple rounds of live ammunition, and a brown, powdery substance resembling cocaine scattered on the bathroom floor, toilet seat, and in the toilet. Police also found 200 glassine bags used for packaging narcotics and nearly $3,000 in cash hidden behind the bed.
If convicted Facey faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years' imprisonment. The interstate prostitution charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
