NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – An 11-year-old boy was shot in the arm and wounded in Brooklyn on Monday night, just hours after another shooting left a 50-year-old man dead blocks away.

The 11-year-old was shot around 11 p.m. at the Ocean Hill-Brownsville Houses on the border of Crown Heights and Brownsville.

Officers arrived at the scene at 324 Howard Ave. to find the boy with a gunshot wound to his left arm.

The shooting came about three hours after two men were shot, one fatally, around 8 p.m. at Mother Gaston Boulevard and Sutter Avenue, about a mile away in Brownsville.

A 50-year-old man was shot in the chest, while a 41-year-old was struck in the shoulder.

EMS transported them to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where the 50-year-old was pronounced dead and the 41-year-old was in stable condition.

The deceased man was later identified as Anthony Barlow, of Brownsville.

The circumstances surrounding the shootings weren't immediately known, and it's unclear if the victims were the intended targets.

No arrests had been reported in either shooting as of Tuesday.
