NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- An 11-year-old boy was struck by an MTA bus in Long Island City on Wednesday afternoon, police and fire officials said.
Emergency responders found the child under a Q69 bus at 21st Street and 39th Avenue after he was hit around 3:35 p.m.
The boy had stepped out between two parked cars moments before the collision, according to officials.

Both of his ankles were broken in the collision, police said. He also suffered a head injury.
He was transported to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was in stable condition.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
