NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are searching for a suspect in the broad-daylight beating and robbery of a 13-year-old boy on a Queens subway train last week.
The NYPD released surveillance footage Wednesday of the suspect, who they said attacked the boy on an M train rolling through Ridgewood shortly after 12 p.m. last Tuesday.
The southbound train was approaching the Seneca Avenue station when the suspect punched the boy in the head and stole his cellphone and headphones, police said.
The suspect fled the scene, and the victim declined medical attention when police arrived.
Surveillance video from the train appears to show the suspect pacing near the victim before the robbery.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
