NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 6-year-old boy died Tuesday after he was found unresponsive at a Times Square hotel suffering from an unknown illness, police said.
The boy fell ill while visiting the city with his family from Maryland, but his condition took a turn for the worse Tuesday morning, according to police.
When officers arrived at the Hampton Inn at West 41st Street and Seventh Avenue around 9:40 a.m., the boy was unconscious and unresponsive, police said.
He was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he died.
The boy showed no signs of physical trauma, police said. His parents told investigators that he was sick on the trip and had been vomiting on Monday night.
The medical examiner’s office is working to determine his exact cause of death.
