NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a man who is accused of kidnapping his 4-year-old son in the Bronx Sunday night.
According to officials, at about 9:20 p.m., 22-year-old Makiel Yoan Turbi met with the child’s mother near East 182nd Street and Jerome Avenue in University Heights.
After meeting at the location, Turbi placed 4-year-old Yoangel Sepulveda on his motorized scooter without the mother’s consent and fled the scene with the child at a high rate of speed to parts unknown.
The mother attempted to hold onto the scooter and was dragged several feet into the intersection of the location.
She was not injured as a result of this incident.
The mother is in an ongoing custody fight with Turbi over their child, authorities said.
