NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is searching for a man wanted in connection to a stabbing that occurred when a Bronx deli employee attempted to break up a fight that occurred between two men inside the store earlier this month.
On March 1, at approximately 8:35 p.m., the suspect entered a deli located at 3700 White Plains Road and got into a verbal dispute with another man that escalated into a physical confrontation, officials said.
A store employee attempted to intervene as the two men grappled with each other inside of the store, according to police.
During the scuffle, the suspect brandished a knife and stabbed the worker in the neck and back causing lacerations and bleeding, authorities said.
The unknown man fled the location in a black vehicle to parts unknown.
EMS transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition.
The individual wanted for questioning in this incident is described as a male, 20-30 years of age.
