NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The new Bronx borough president saw a sign that said the person holding her position wasn't her … and it definitely opened up her eyes.

Bronx BP Vanessa Gibson tweeted out a photo of the new highway sign that said "Welcome to the Bronx … Boro Pres Donovan Richard."

Richards is the Queens borough president, and has been for over a year now, while Gibson took office on Jan. 1.

"I know it's been a rough couple of weeks in the Bronx, but y'all didn't have to get rid of me already," Gibson tweeted, tagging the city's Department of Transportation.

The sign was first spotted on the Hutchinson River Parkway as driver's enter the Bronx from the Whitestone Bridge, NY1 reported. The DOT said the sign was quickly replaced Wednesday.

But that didn't stop a bit of friendly ribbing between the boroughs.

"Being the BP of by far the best borough in NYC comes with an understanding that everyone always has #Queens on their mind. It's natural," Richards tweeted.

Gibson responded back with a Beyoncé GIF and, "Sorry I'm late to the chat. I was too busy being the BP that represents the best borough and the REAL birthplace of Hip-Hop. What did I miss?"

Richards (jokingly) wouldn't take that lightly, coming back with, "The Bronx might be the birthplace of hip-hop, @bronxbp, but we all know #Queens perfected it. Nas, LL Cool J, A Tribe Called Quest, shall we go on?"

"Hm… @fatjoe and @RealRemyMa might have to disagree. Also, last time I checked the [Universal Hip Hop Museum] was going to be where? #JustSaying," Gibson came back with, referencing the museum with a projected opening date of 2024.

Richards came to friendly agreement in the Bronx-Queens battle, saying, "The Bronx has big stars, no doubt, but #Queens is home to hip-hop legends, pioneers and trailblazers. All love is right, though! Plus, I think we can both agree that the outerboroughs are the best boroughs…"

"I could not agree more … all love always!" Gibson said.

Though Gibson did have one more joke on the way out, posting a picture of her holding up a sign that said she worked for Richards.
