
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is investigating a machete slashing in the Bronx Friday morning that caused the victim to lose four of their fingers.
According to police, at about 11:30 a.m., a Pitbull was barking in front of 2001 Southern Blvd. in Crotona when the suspect pulled put a machete.
The owner of the Pitbull then got in between the suspect and the dog, cops said.
The owner was then slashed, causing him to lose four of his fingers, officials said.
The victim was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital and is listed in stable condition.
The attacker ran off in an unknown direction. A description as not been released by police.
An investigation remains ongoing.
