NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A 64-year-old man was strangled to death by his roommate at their apartment in the Bronx last week, police said Thursday.
NYPD officers responding to a 911 call at 1242 Hobart Ave. in the Schuylerville section just before 4 a.m. last Thursday found Anthony Iannuzzo lying face down in the living room.
He was unconscious and unresponsive at the time, and EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.
The medical examiner determined his death to be homicide by strangulation, according to police.
On Tuesday, his roommate Michael Rivera, 41, was arrested and charged with murder and manslaughter.
Rivera told police that an argument between the two of them had turned physical, the Daily News reported. He was ordered held without bail by a judge ahead of a Friday court appearance.
