NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A 19-year-old man was arrested on murder charges in the fatal triple stabbing of his 5-year-old half-brother and the boy’s mom and dad in the Bronx last weekend, police said Thursday.

Jayden Rivera, of the Bronx, was charged Wednesday night with multiple counts of murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon. He’s the son of the slain father, according to multiple reports.

Rivera’s arrest follows the brutal slaying Saturday night of Kayden Rivera, 5, and parents Jonathan Rivera, 38, and Hanoi Peralta, 33.

The bodies of the three victims were found in their bloodstained apartment at East 136th Street and Cypress Avenue in Mott Haven on Sunday morning as NYPD officers responded to a 911 call, police said.

The victims had been repeatedly stabbed with a knife and beaten with a kitchen pot, according to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny.

The father was found in a first-floor hallway, while the mom was discovered in a bedroom near her son, who'd been disemboweled, according to Kenny.

Dahan Ali, who owns the deli next door to where the family lived, told 1010 WINS that he saw the family every day as the mother took her son to school and the father bought coffee. He described them as “very nice.”

Detectives believe the suspect was babysitting his half-brother Saturday night and stabbed the victims when the parents returned home.

He went to his mother’s Bronx apartment Sunday; she called an ambulance after he said he was hearing voices, according to officials.

He remained at Westchester Medical Center, where he was undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.

His defense attorney, Nicholas Ramcharitar, told the Daily News that he was an A student with a full college scholarship. “Nobody expected Jayden, not the family, not even the cops,” Ramcharitar said.

“The only thing I can garner from this is it must have been a psychotic break,” he said.
