NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged with shooting and killing a neighbor with whom he was feuding over a marijuana deal, according to police and a report.

Elvis Torres was arrested and charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the death of Joenathan Pabon, 32, on Wednesday, the NYPD said Thursday.

Torres and Pabon lived in the same building on Grand Concourse in the Bronx, the department said. Police say Torres shot Pabon in the lower back and torso inside their apartment building.

The Daily News reported that the two had "a longstanding beef involving a marijuana deal," citing police sources.

Pabon's girlfriend told the outlet he was "a loving, caring person, always willing to help people."

Torres sent Pabon threatening text messages demanding money from him on the day he allegedly shot him, she said.

"I want justice for him," she said, according to the outlet. "He didn't deserve to die this way."
