NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A Bronx man who allegedly sexually assaulted and beat his girlfriend's son, causing his death, was indicted Monday, according to the Bronx District Attorney's office.

Keishawn Gordon, 24, was arrested in September after police found Legacy Beauford, 1, unconscious in a bedroom at the Webster Houses in Morrisania, Bronx, and pronounced dead at the Bronx Care Health System.

Gordon was arraigned Monday on two counts of second-degree murder, first and second-degree manslaughter and first-degree aggravated sexual abuse before Bronx Supreme Court Justice Efrain Alvarado.

According to the DA's office, Gordon allegedly "violently squeezed the baby and threw him up in the air and hit him in the face because the child would not stop crying" as Beauford's mother was away from their shared home.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said Beauford sustained multiple blunt force trauma injuries to the torso, which led to a lacerated liver and internal bleeding.

Officials said Beauford was also allegedly sexually assaulted with a toothbrush.

"The defendant, Keishawn Gordon, allegedly carried out monstrous acts against defenseless one-year-old Legacy Beauford ... We will seek justice for the innocent child, who suffered so much," said District Attorney Darcel D. Clark in a statement.

Gordon is due back in court on Jan. 24.
