NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for an Uber Eats delivery worker accused of stealing a purse containing thousands of dollars from an open window in the Bronx last month.
At approximately 2:40 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, a 27-year-old woman placed an Uber Eats food delivery and requested the delivery employee place the order through an open window of an apartment inside of a residential building located in the vicinity of Haviland and Olmstead avenues in Unionport.
The suspect left the food order at the apartment door instead of through the open window as requested.
After delivering the food inside the building, the unidentified delivery employee took a purse containing approximately $10,000 from the open window of the delivery recipient’s apartment.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
