NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A Brooklyn deli worker was stabbed to death on Friday afternoon by a man who he had asked to leave the market, sources told 1010 WINS.
Officers responded to the deli at 684 Hegeman Ave. in East New York just after 3 p.m. and found the employee with multiple stab wounds to the stomach.
The victim, in his 30s, was transported to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center in critical condition, but he could not be saved.
An agitated man was inside the deli and was asked to leave, sources said. He did, but soon returned and went behind the counter where he fatally stabbed the employee.
It is not believed that the attack was a robbery, and sources said that the case is being investigated as a random attack.
The suspect is described as being about 5 feet and 10 inches tall, 190 pounds and having braided hair.
There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
