NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Two workers were beaten by would-be ice cream thieves at a deli in Brooklyn last week, police said Wednesday as they released new photos of the suspects.

The victims, two men ages 47 and 49, were working at a deli on Franklin Avenue, near Lincoln Place, in Crown Heights last Friday afternoon when three robbers entered and attacked them just before 1:30 p.m.

The trio punched and kicked the two employees repeatedly during the assault, police said.

They then attempted to steal ice cream but were unsuccessful. They also tried to grab a phone, but ultimately fled empty-handed, according to police.

The victims refused medical attention at the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
