NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 75-year-old man was beaten to death in his Coney Island apartment earlier this week, according to police.
Donald Wallace was found in his apartment in NYCHA’s Carey Gardens complex on West 23rd Street near Neptune Avenue around 5:18 p.m. on Thursday, officials said.
EMS pronounced him dead at the scene, though it wasn’t immediately clear what caused the death.
The New York City Medical Examiner’s Office determined Wallace died of blunt force trauma to the head, and the police deemed the death a homicide on Monday.
Police have not yet made any arrests. Nothing had been stolen and there was no forced entry at the apartment.
