
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A 37-year-old man was arrested and charged Friday afternoon, hours after the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old in a Brooklyn housing complex.
Usamah Sidberry was charged with second-degree murder and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon after he was apprehended at 5:30 p.m. Friday in the same precinct the shooting took place.
At 12:18 a.m. on Friday, police found the body of 21-year-old Dyseem Jackson with multiple gunshot wounds to the head at 1400 Bergen St. in Crown Heights, part of NYCHA’s Albany Houses.
EMS responded and pronounced Jackson dead at the scene.
The site of the shooting was the same address that police provided for Sidberry. Jackson’s residence was listed by police as 193 Albany Ave., another of the Albany Houses buildings.
It was not immediately clear what the relationship between the men was or what preceded the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing.
