NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — After entering a Brooklyn church on Friday afternoon, a suspect stabbed a 60-year-old man twice in the neck and stole his pick-up truck, the NYPD said.
The attack occurred around 2 p.m. at 888 East 56th St., which was identified by a police spokesperson as a church.
The victim, a 60-year-old man, was engaged in an argument with a stranger who entered the building. The altercation soon became violent and the suspect stabbed the victim twice in the neck with an unknown object.
Authorities said that the suspect took the victim’s car keys and made off in an unknown direction in his 2004 Chevy Silverado pick-up truck.
EMS transported the 60-year-old to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in stable condition, officials said.
The New York Daily News reported that the under-construction church is the future home of Rehoboth Open Bible Church, which is currently located on Avenue D in East Flatbush.
There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
