NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – One of the most photographed pieces of infrastructure in Central Park, the Bow Bridge, will be under renovation from Monday, Nov. 27 through January, the Central Park Conservancy said.

In a post on X, the Central Park Conservancy announced the repair closure and wrote: "We're replacing the wood decking to enhance the experience from one of the most beloved locations in the Park."

The Bow Bridge, which is named for the low-lying curve that looks like the bow of a violinist or archer, is considered such a romantic and picturesque spot due to its Victorian design. According to the Central Park Conservancy, the Bow Bridge is the site of many wedding proposals.

The bridge, which is one of the park's main entrances to the Ramble and aids in park circulation, joins other famous features of the park that are either closed for the season or closed for repairs.

The Great Lawn has been closed since last month due to weather and foot traffic from the Global Citizen Festival damaging the grass. The lawn will reopen in April after the agency can seed, aerate and pod areas of the lawn that suffered significant damage.
