NEW YORK (AP) — An 18-year-old man has been returned to New York to face charges in the 2019 fatal shooting of another teenager on a Queens basketball court.
Sean Brown, of Queens, was charged Saturday with murder in the death of 14-year-old Aamir Griffin.
Griffin, who neighbors said was a disciplined teen and never broke his family-imposed curfew, was struck by gunfire on Oct. 19, 2019 while on a court at the Baisley Park Houses in the borough's Jamaica section.
It was not clear at the time if he was the target of the shooting.
Brown was arrested in California last month as held as a fugitive in the shooting.
It is not clear if he has hired an attorney.
