NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Chris Cuomo's wife, Cristina, reminded her viewers to recognize how "impactful your words" are just hours after it was revealed that her husband was fired from CNN when the network learned of a prior sexual assault allegation.

His wife provided the guidance during a 40-minute "self-improving" yoga session on Instagram Live Wednesday with instructor Erika Halweil.

"Think about how impactful your words are to other people — the ones you write, the ones you say," she said.

At one point, Cristina asked Halweil about the importance of "positive things," including "humility" and "kindness."

"That's important too," she continued.

"Have you noticed that those positive things don't get enough airtime? And I don't mean airtime like on the media ... that's actually part of the primitive brain because we need to pay more attention to negative things to avoid life-threatening danger, but we don't need to do that really anymore," Halweil responded.

The mother of three and "wellness worshiper" said she would turn off her Instagram Live comments so she could focus, adding that the "power of the word is so strong."

Cristina's live session came hours after The New York Times reported her husband was fired from CNN after a former colleague at ABC News accused him of sexually assaulting her when she wouldn’t have sex with him in his office, where he allegedly "badgered her for sex" and assaulted her after he invited her for lunch in 2011.

The unnamed accuser, referred to as "Jane Doe," detailed the encounter in a letter sent to CNN lawyers, just hours after the 9 p.m. anchor was suspended for advising his brother, ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo, on how to dodge his own sexual assault allegations.

Cuomo then allegedly contacted her at the height of the #MeToo movement for a segment about a public relations company where she worked. CNN ultimately ran with the segment, despite her desire to avoid contact with him.
