NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Chris Redd, the comedian and "Saturday Night Live" alum who was randomly attacked in the West Village last week, said in a Sunday Instagram post he’s “resting up” and doing OK.
“I’ve been resting up like crazy but I want to say thank you thank you thank you for all the messages of love, the jokes and the concern!” Redd wrote on his Instagram story. “I’m OK and healing fast!”

Redd was punched in the face outside of the Comedy Cellar on MacDougal Street around 9:40 p.m. on Wednesday while exiting a vehicle in front of the club, according to police.
The 37-year-old suffered a laceration to his face and was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue. He was treated and released for a fractured nose.
Also on Sunday, TMZ published photos it obtained of Redd, showing a stitched-up nose and swollen bruised eyes.
A potential motive for the assault remains unclear but officials said it may have been an attempted chain-snatching. The attacker is still at large.
Redd also added that he rescheduled the shows which had to be canceled following the attack. His next show is scheduled for Nov. 11 in Tacoma, Washington.
“I’ll be back up and talking some good shit very soon!!!” Redd said.
Redd appeared on SNL for five seasons and left the show this year.
