NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police on Monday arrested a man accused of fatally stabbing his lawyer in Queens last week, according to officials.
Nando Perez, 64, a Bronx resident was arrested in connection to the murder of 65-year-old Charles Zolot and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, authorities said.
Zolot was a Queens lawyer specializing in divorces and child custody cases.
The NYPD confirmed that Perez was a client of Zolot and had a longstanding dispute with the attorney, that "came to an end," but didn't provide other details.
Zolot was found unconscious by a janitor found on Thursday, Aug. 5, at his law office located near 82nd Street and 37th Avenue in Jackson Heights, according to officials.
Law enforcement sources told NBC New York that the attorney had been stabbed in the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
An investigation remains ongoing.
