NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The U.S. Coast Guard continued its search Monday for a missing man after a boat overturned off the coast of Staten Island on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

Authorities received a call reporting a vessel in distress near Newport Walk and Breezy Point at about 12 p.m. The boat was in the Ambrose Channel between Staten Island, Sandy Hook, New Jersey and the Rockaway Peninsula.

As of Monday morning, the Coast Guard was still actively searching for 52-year-old Vernon Glasford, of the Bronx, according to his family and a statement by the official U.S. Coast Guard NYC and Tri-State Area.
