NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- One person was injured Monday after a construction fence fell onto a sidewalk in Upper Manhattan, officials said.
The incident happened just after 5 p.m. in front of a six-story building on West 144th Street and Broadway, according to FDNY officials.
Investigators believe wind toppled the fence over onto the sidewalk and struck a woman walking down the street in the head, according to Department of Building inspectors.
The victim then ended up underneath a car, officials said.

She was taken to St. Luke's Hospital to be treated for her injuries.
The building was undergoing permitted renovations to repair damage caused by a 2017 fire but was issued a partial stop-work order for the permitted construction, by the DOB.
The DOB also issued a violation to the contractor for failure to protect the public and ordered the damaged fence to be removed and replaced with a new one.
