NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A rebar cage tipped onto five contractors on Monday at a Department of Environmental Protection construction site in Queens, seriously injuring one, the agency said.

It happened just before noon at 46-01 37th Ave. at 48th Street in Woodside, which is the location of Shaft 17B, the third water tunnel in the city.

The four other workers sustained minor injuries, a DEP spokesperson said.

The Department of Buildings told 1010 WINS that inspectors were at the site, but the scene is "out of their jurisdiction."

An investigation is ongoing.

1010 WINS reached out to the FDNY for more information.
