Couple swipes child's backpack, attempt to use stolen debit card in Brooklyn: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is looking to identify a couple wanted for swiping a child's bookbag, cash and then attempting to use a stolen debit card in Brooklyn last month, according to officials.

The incdent occurred at around 8:00 p.m, on Monday August 9, in the vicinity of an Express clothing store located at 49 Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn, police said.


Authorities said a 35-year-old woman realized her child's backpack containing a debit card and $180 in cash was missing.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, officials determined that at approximately 8:10 p.m., the duo attempted to purchase merchandise with the victim's debit card inside a Perfume Elegant store located at 517 Fulton Street, but were unsuccessful.

The first suspect is a light-skinned woman, with eyeglasses. She was last seen wearing a blue mask, a white sweater, and a dark-colored shirt.

The second suspect is a light-skinned man, who wore a blue mask, a white shirt, gray shorts, and he had on a blue, black, and red backpack.
