NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A cyclist riding in an East Harlem bike lane on Wednesday evening was slashed during a road rage dispute, police said.
The 60-year-old man was with his son on First Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. when they were confronted by the driver of a black sedan making a left turn onto East 97th Street, according to the NYPD.
The driver exited his vehicle and yelled at the victim before slashing him in the face and neck, police said. He then took off in the black car.
Officials said that the cyclist transported himself to the hospital for treatment.
The circumstances that led to the slashing were not immediately clear.
There have been no arrests and the investigation is going.
