New York (1010 WINS) — Mayor Bill de Blasio said he and organizers were exploring options to make up his star-studded “We Love NYC” concert that was rained out in Central Park Saturday night.

“Anyone who saw it, anyone who was there, is feeling a great sense of loss because we were watching something magical and an unbelievable statement about New York City and there's unfinished business there,” de Blasio said during a morning briefing Monday.

The concert, a celebration of New York City’s perseverance through the coronavirus pandemic, boasted a bill that included Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Andrea Bocelli and LL Cool J, among many others.

But the show was cut short — in the middle of a Barry Manilow set — when Tropical Storm Henri dumped record rainfall and lightening on the city, preventing the likes of Springsteen, Patti Smith, and Elvis Costello from taking the stage.

De Blasio said nothing has been confirmed, but that he would be holding meetings to discuss a redo.

“We've got a look at options now. I had a good conversation yesterday with Clive Davis and Doug Davis,” the mayor said. We are going to be meeting in the next few days to consider options.

“But all I can say is what they did in putting together that concert was one of the greatest acts of love and support for New York City I've ever seen,” he added. “And there's still more out there and we'll have updates on that as we go along.”
