NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The death of a baby boy in Queens has been ruled a homicide, police said Wednesday, nearly six months after the boy died.

Seven-month-old Kameri Garriques died at Jamaica Hospital on Oct. 30, the same day he was found unresponsive at his home at Liberty Avenue and 186th Street in St. Albans.

Police said at the time that officers observed no obvious signs of trauma to Garriques' body when they arrived at the home.

The city medical examiner has now determined that he died from complications of malnutrition, police told the Daily News.

Following Garriques' death, doctors found he didn't have food in his stomach, according to the report.

Sources told the Daily News that police are focusing on the young boy's 28-year-old mother, who reportedly called 911 and told police she found her son unconscious after putting him to sleep.

Police said Wednesday that there have been no arrests and that an investigation is ongoing.
