NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD deemed the death of a man who died after a September fire in a Brooklyn apartment a homicide, officials said Wednesday.
According to police, at approximately 12:20 a.m. on September 12, police responded to a 911 call of a fire inside of a first floor apartment at 572 Warren Street, in Boerum Hill.
Once FDNY officials were able to extinguish the blaze, discovered 21-year-old Brandon Hernandez unconscious and unresponsive.
EMS transported the victim to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Tuesday, October 20.
The incident has now been deemed a Homicide, police said.
No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
