Dognapper steals Pit bull 'Precious' from outside Bronx store

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Police are searching for a dognapper who stole a Pit bull that was tied up outside of a store in the Bronx on Friday and are investigating the crime as grand larceny.

Just after 6 a.m. on Friday, a 42-year-old man tied his Pit bull, named Precious, to a fence in the vicinity of 3427 Third Ave. in the Morrisania section while he popped into a store, police said.

As the victim was in the store, a man removed Precious as he walked by and fled with her southbound on Third Avenue.

The suspect is described as having a medium build with a close-cut long beard, and he was last seen wearing all black. Police released surveillance images of him on Saturday night.
