NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A BMW driver was arrested early Monday for running down a cyclist and a pedestrian in a Brooklyn crash that left one victim in critical condition. And about an hour later in Queens, a motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision with an SUV.

The BMW driver, a 20-year-old woman, was headed westbound on Halsey Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant just before midnight when she struck both a pedestrian and a cyclist at the intersection of Tompkins Avenue, police said.

The 19-year-old pedestrian was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County in critical condition.

The 32-year-old cyclist was transported to the same hospital in stable condition.

The driver stayed at the scene, but she was eventually taken into custody with charges pending.

Police said speed and possible impairment were likely factors in the crash.

Then shortly before 1:30 a.m. in Howard Beach, a 24-year-old man driving an SUV northbound on Cross Bay Boulevard struck a motorcyclist.

The driver was making a left turn onto 165th Avenue when he collided head-on with the motorcyclist, who was traveling southbound.

The motorcyclist, who hasn't been identified, was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.

The SUV driver stayed at the scene. No arrests had been reported as of Monday.
