NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The NYPD was searching for a teen gunman on Tuesday after a stray bullet fatally struck a 66-year-old driver in Queens on Monday, causing him to crash his car into a 23-year-old woman on the street.
A photo from the NYPD shows the masked suspect, who’s believed to be between 15 and 18 years old, around the time of the shooting St. Albans.
The man was driving a gray Nissan SUV eastbound on Baisley Boulevard around 4:50 p.m. Monday when shots were fired, police said, citing a preliminary investigation.

As the driver turned left from Baisley Boulevard onto northbound Farmers Boulevard, a bullet struck him in the head, according to cops.
The mortally wounded driver lost control of the vehicle and struck the woman on the street, police said.

EMS rushed the 66-year-old to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. He was identified as William Alcindor, of Queens Village.
The 23-year-old was transported by EMS to the same hospital with injuries to her legs. She was in critical but stable condition.
It’s unclear who the shooter was targeting. Police believe the shots were fired from 117th Road, and surveillance video reportedly shows a group of teens scattering outside a store there as the bullets flew.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
