NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — One person is in custody after a driver was killed following a car crash in Queens early Wednesday morning.

It happened at about 4:15 a.m. on Northern Boulevard in East Elmhurst.

According to officials, a 24-year-old man driving a 2022 BMW northbound on 107th Street was fatally struck by a 2015 Mercedes driven by a 28-year-old man eastbound on Northern Boulevard.

The driver of the BMW was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst where he was pronounced dead.

The front passenger and rear passenger in the Mercedes, both 28, were taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst in stable condition.

The driver of the Mercedes was taken into police custody at the scene with charges pending.
